Test scores are only one piece of a real admissions decision — GPA, coursework rigor, essays, extracurriculars, and (at many schools) whether the application is test-optional all matter too. Use this as a starting point for building a balanced list, not a final verdict.
Is a "Likely" school a guaranteed acceptance?
No. It means your score is at or above the school's typical admitted-student range, which improves your odds, but admissions decisions also weigh GPA, essays, and other factors this tool doesn't see.
Where do the score ranges come from?
They're based on commonly published 25th–75th percentile admitted-student SAT and ACT scores. Actual ranges shift slightly year to year, so treat them as directional rather than official.
What if a school is test-optional?
At test-optional schools, a score below the typical range carries less weight than it would at a school that requires scores — this tool doesn't currently account for that distinction, so factor it in yourself when a target school is test-optional.
